Tell us about your role?

I lead product strategy across our national mortgage processing and loan origination platform, focusing on building technology that makes mortgage processing faster, more accurate, and more transparent. I am a solicitor by trade, and my role sits across law, operations, and customer experience, ensuring the products we build solve real problems for lenders, brokers, and borrowers.

What does being a 30 Under 30 Finalist mean to you?

Being named a finalist in the Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Awards is a fantastic honour for Lextech and our product development team. It reflects the growing importance of technology and innovation in modern legal services. It’s exciting to be part of shaping how legal-tech improves outcomes for financial institutions, businesses, and consumers across the property ecosystem.

How does your technology and legal services help community lenders, banks, and everyday Australians?

Mortgage processing and the loan lifecycle have undergone significant transformation over recent decades. While the rule of law and the Torrens title system remain the enduring foundation of property law, the way technology enables mortgage lending, property transactions, and legal processing has changed dramatically, driving greater efficiency, transparency, and scalability across the industry. Lextech’s technology and legal services empower lenders, helping simplify and accelerate property transactions across the financial ecosystem.

For community lenders and banks, our platform improves operational efficiency, reduces manual processing, and strengthens data integrity and compliance across the transaction lifecycle. As a partner to lenders we act on their behalf, connecting lenders, brokers, and settlement partners through integrated workflows and APIs, we help financial institutions move faster while maintaining strong legal and regulatory standards.

For everyday Australians, this ultimately means faster, more transparent loan processing and property transactions. Borrowers benefit from digital loans and signing, reduced paperwork, clearer communication, and greater visibility of where their transaction is at any point in time. Buying or refinancing a home is one of the biggest financial decisions people make, so we focus on making that experience as smooth, secure, and stress-free as possible.

More broadly, we also help support community lending by enabling smaller and regional lenders to compete and be truly scalable through access to legal expertise for all loans types, modern technology, automation, and integration capabilities that would otherwise be costly to build independently. This helps create a more competitive and customer-focused lending market across Australia.

How is technology changing legal and mortgage processing?

Technology is helping transform legal operations from manual, document-heavy processes into automated, data-driven workflows. This improves accuracy, reduces risk, and allows teams to focus on higher-value work while delivering faster and more reliable experiences for customers.

How does product development improve customer experience?

Customer experience is at the centre of everything we build at Lextech. In mortgage processing, speed, visibility, security and certainty are critical. We design systems that provide real-time updates, reduce manual intervention, and make complex legal transactions feel simple for our customers and their customers.

Jack Purcell says customer experience is at the centre of everything we build at Lextech.

What excites you most about the future of legal technology?

Witnessing the convergence of legal, finance, and technology ecosystems. As integration networks, automation, and data insights continue to evolve, we can help deliver faster transactions, stronger compliance, and better customer experiences while supporting the operational needs of lenders and legal teams.

Any advice for people entering law and legal/fin tech?

Stay curious, focus on solving real customer problems, and always think about how technology can improve both operational outcomes and customer experiences. The best legal-tech solutions sit at the intersection of legal knowledge, product thinking, and customer centricity.
